New International Students Pre-Arrival Checklist
These are the next steps you will need to complete in order to secure your spot and have an easy transition:

Pay your $1000ÌýNon-Refundable Tuition Deposit (F-1 students only - You will need to create your UCID first!)
Incoming students must pay theÌýUSD $1000Ìýtuition deposit to confirm your spot at Âé¶¹Éç.

- This deposit will be credited toward your tuition bill once you enroll at Âé¶¹Éç.
All incoming studentsÌýmust also complete the F1 International Student Essentials course in Canvas prior to arrival at Âé¶¹Éç and registration for coursework.

New Jersey State law mandates that Health and Immunization forms be submitted before you can register for classes. If you have any questions, please contact Health Services at +1 (973) 596-3621, or via email at healthservices@njit.edu. The Meningitis vaccine is required for all undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students who are 18 years of age or younger and those who are 19 years of age or older who will live in university housing. If you plan to live on campus, you will not be allowed to move into, or have access to, on-campus housing if you have not submitted proof of all pre-entrance health requirements including the meningitis vaccine. All documents must be submitted to the . Exceptions are given to students who are actively receiving vaccines that require spacing between doses, or those approved for a medical or religious exemption by Âé¶¹Éç Health Services.
You are advised to have the required forms completed by your physician before you depart your home country, since the cost of immunizations in the U.S. can be expensive.
Âé¶¹Éç’s offer of admission is contingent upon satisfactory completion of any academic work in progress before you start your program here. It is your responsibility to ensure that your final official transcripts are forwarded to the Office of Admission as soon as your courses are completed.
Transfer students are required to submit a course-by-course WES evaluation for all academic work completed outside the U.S. Without the transcript evaluation students will not be allowed to register for classes.

Fall 2025 F-1 International Student Essentials CourseÌýand New Student Immigration Check-In
Before international students can register for courses, they must complete the *MANDATORY*ÌýF-1 International Student Essentials online course, andÌýStep 1: of the *MANDATORY*ÌýNew Student Check-In:ÌýVisa ApprovalÌýReporting.
- Information and instructions about the F-1 InternationalÌýStudent Essentials online course and the New Student Check-in process will be sent to you via email once they are available.Ìý
- All incoming F-1 students are required to complete these *mandatory* requirements before they can register for courses. Ìý
- Once you have completed the two *mandatory* requirements, please allow 24 hours for the registration hold, which prevents students from registering for classes,Ìýto be removed.Ìý
*If you complete any of the mandatory requirements over the weekend, your hold will be removed the next businessÌýday*.Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý
