Spring 2025-Drop-in Support Groups and Weekly Therapy Groups at C-CAPS
Therapy groups and drop-in support groups are confidential spaces that offer the unique experience of gaining supportÌý with a variety of concerns, practicing communication, learning new skills and strategies, and building social connections.Ìý Led by the licensed mental health professionals at C-CAPS, groups can be attended in addition to or in lieu of individualÌý counseling or therapy at C-CAPS when appropriate. Let’s Talk Mondays 4:00 PM – 5:15 PMÌý
This drop-in group provides an opportunity to discuss challenges and get support with issues like anxiety, loss, relationships,Ìý academic pressures, isolation, depression, and self-esteem. Gain an understanding of yourself and others and learn ways to cope.Ìý
International Student Support Group Fridays 2:30 PM – 3:45 PMÌý
This group aims to provide a safe space to discuss the unique challenges faced by international students in undergraduate and graduate programs, such as homesickness, loneliness, academic stress, language barriers, financial difficulty, and other stressors.Ìý
Women’s Group for Graduate Students Mondays 10:00 AM – 11:15 AMÌý
This group provides an opportunity to connect and share with other female graduate students, particularly related to their livedÌý experiences as women and their personal challenges and successes, in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.Ìý
Relational Rhythm Tuesdays 2:30 PM – 3:45 PMÌý
This group provides a supportive and interactive space for students looking to enhance their ability to manage and navigate all typesÌý of relationships. Through a combination of skill-building exercises and guided discussions, students will strengthen their social emotional and interpersonal communication skills to foster healthier, more fulfilling connections.Ìý
Our Space to Heal (BIPOC Trauma & Resiliency) Wednesdays 2:30 PM – 3:45 PM
For Students of Color at Âé¶¹Éç looking to build community and deal with ongoing impacts of stress, adversity, and traumaÌý
Transcending Boundaries (LGBTQIA+ Support) Wednesdays 4:15 PM – 5:30 PMÌý
A weekly therapy group for students in the Queer and Trans community at Âé¶¹Éç, covering issues such as gender, sexuality, family,Ìý culture, relationships, mental health, and coping with life’s ups and downsÌýÌý
Coping with Anxiety Thursdays 4:00 PM – 5:15 PMÌý
This group is a supportive place for those dealing with symptoms of anxiety and stress. Members share and support each other whileÌý learning how to replace unease and fear with confidence and calm. Specific skills will be taught and practiced for managing worry.Ìý
1st Generation College Students Group Fridays 11:30 AM – 12:45 PMÌý
For students who are among the first in their families to attend college, there can be experiences of unique rewards and challenges.Ìý In this safe and affirming space, attendees will be provided opportunities to process and explore their experiences andÌý intersectionality, while connecting with others.
